Well here's the things that i had learned from taking some plastering courses today:
Darby: Darby looks like a float provided that is has extra longer blade and made with handles for manipulation purpose.
Feather and Straight Edges: The feather edge has blade tapers used to sharpen the edges. Also, it is used in cutting the corners inside, shaping it into sharp edge and creating straight lines that will serve as a guide where the outside walls intersect.
Float: It is used to fill the hollows and voids to flatten the bumps or to add texture. It is made with wood and has a blade. The angle float is created with stainless or aluminum while the sponge float is made with rubber or plastic. Hawks are used to get a certain plaster texture.
Hawk: It is used for carrying mortar placed on the board and applied on the wall. It is a lightweight metal with vertical handle and size ranges from 10 to 14 inches.
